Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a treatment by air pressure that is contained inside shockwave gun. The waves that come out are immediately high-pressure waves and then rapidly decrease. This causes the muscles to loosen and the flexibility. It also causes rapid blood flow to the treatment site. Shockwave therapy is highly effective in treating chronic pain. Especially muscles, ligaments, muscles and bone ligaments, such as chronic subclamory ligaments. Chronic shoulder pain from shoulder ligament inflammation or chronic muscle pain, office syndrome

  • Reduce chronic pain by secreting substances that reduce pain and stimulate sensory function.
  • Increase blood flow by expanding blood vessels.
  • Stimulates secretion of substances associated with repairing injured tissue.
  • Reduce muscle tightness
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Shoulder arthritis
  • Tendinitis
  • Golfer’s elbow ligament inflammation tennis player
  • Muscle strain from use
  • Knee ligament inflammation
  • Pain in the side ligaments of the hips or legs
  • Office Syndrome

The physiotherapist will set appropriate position for treatment and identify the spots where the muscles are tightened and press sore. Before starting treatment, there are various settings in the machine as size of air pursue and type of the bullet used for treatment is selected. While healing, waves are fired to areas where the muscles are tightened. The patient will hear sounds of wind pressure and feel a slight pain in the area where the shock waves are fired. It doesn’t hurt too much. No burning skin and numbness. In each area uses a number of shots of about 500 to 1,000 rounds, but in case of muscle pain there is a wide area. The number of shots fired may be between 1,000 and 4,000 rounds, while the number of treatments should be carried out only 1-2 times a week so that the treatment area is self-repairing.

Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation (PMS) Magnetic Stimulator Therapy

PMS or Peripheral Magnetic Stimulation technology is a neural stimulator with the use of electromagnetic waves. It is medically called Electromagnetic to treat pain such as muscle pain, tendonitis. Joint pain and nerve numbness are effective. Electromagnetic waves can be stimulated through clothing without touching the skin, reaching tissues and bones about 10 cm deep. Stimulates the nerves directly, causing depolarization. Stimulates tissues at the site of the pain, causing better blood circulation around the muscles. It does not cause injury to the surrounding organs, feels relaxed during treatment, as well as sends magnetic wave signals to stimulate the muscle, immobile areas, sends signals to the brain and the active part of the brain to recover, and then sends the signal back down, causing the muscle to be able to move more freely. As part of the treatment of pain symptoms, Nerve stimulation triggers signals that help inhibit pain. It can treat both acute and chronic pain, and also stimulates tissue auxiliary repair.

  • Paralysis caused by stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, bell’spalsy will be a big basin that will be able to use magnetic stimulators for treatment, also reduces spasms in patients and improves the recovery of paralysis.

  • Spinal diseases, spinal pillows are diseases that are directly related to spinal cord, degeneration of the spine and orthopedic pillows, or movements of orthopedic pillows that affect nerves from the spinal cord or spinal cord injury. Magnetic resonance therapy is able to treat this pain group more effectively than other instruments, since magnetic stimulation can be stimulated deeper to the nerve roots.

  • Office syndrome, Sprained symptoms Chronic injuries, pain from muscles, ligaments, fibrosis which caused by direct nerve injury, such as pain in the neck, shoulders, elbows, arms, hands, waist, back, hips, legs, knees or ankles, all of this pain group can be cured, if done treatment continuously as recommended by the doctor, the pain will gradually improve and eventually disappear.

  • Numbness syndrome from diabetics showed that hand numbness, foot numbness improved by 50-100% each time they were treated. In addition, PMS machines are used to help treat the rehabilitation of sports injuries. Athletes who have been injured in training or during competitions

  • After treatment can reduce pain and numbness as well.
  • Can increase power and stimulate muscle weakness from paralysis
  • Effectively accelerate the recovery of injured nerves such as nerve injuries, falling hands, falling feet, weak limbs. Symptoms of pressure on the nerve roots in the neck and waist from dislocated or degenerative orthopedic pillow disease
  • Accelerate recovery from nerves with distorted behaviors such as beriberi Pain after nerve injury Chronic pain from all types of musculoskeletal diseases
  • Very short treatment time per treatment point.
  • If the treatment continues can reduce the number of treatments
  • Able to treat effectively in all stages of disease progression, i.e. acute phase. subacute and chronic
  • Mechanism of healing stimulates tissue regeneration. It’s not just a cure.
  • Muscles are prone to soreness or cramps for 2-3 days after treatment.
  • There is a chance of heat buildup from the metal around body such as the buckle, the coin coil on the jeans, etc.

Treatment with ultrasound therapy (Therapeutic Ultrasound)

ultrasound therapy It is a supersonic therapy. ultrasound therapy which gives a deep thermal effect

  • Reduce pain and inflammation of tissues.
  • Reduce the adhesion of joints.
  • Increase muscle flexibility.
  • Stimulates the repair of injuries.

ultrasound therapy technology to treat office syndrome

Ultrasound is the most common to used in physical therapy to treat office syndrome or it can be used to treat various of pains. However, if the pain not so strong can be cured be heat therapy to relieve pain, such as using a hot pad or hot towel. For cases with severe pain may use deep heat from ultrasound machine to treat the musculoskeletal layer, usually using ultrasound with a high frequency of 1-3 MHz.

Ultrasound therapy for office syndrome will help reduce pain Inflammation of tissues, swelling, accelerate tissue repair and helps muscles relax from spasms. As well as increasing flexibility in the joints in the deep layers as well.

However using ultrasound is not for everyone. for example, pregnant patient, around bleeding area and severe inflammation Therefore, each treatment should be guided by a doctor or specialist first.

Electrical stimulation therapy (Electrotherapy)

What is electrical therapy?

It is a form of treatment that brings electrical energy from power generators to physical therapy treatments. There are two objectives of physiotherapy electrical therapy:

  1. Using electricity for muscle stimulation is a treatment that causes the muscles to contract and relax. This is intended to slow down atrophy by maintain muscle strength from conditions such as when wearing a cast and unable to move or weakness from a nerve disorder or vascular debilitating condition.
  2. Using electricity to reduce pain
  • Acute pain symptoms such as after surgery.
  • Musculoskeletal, bone and joint pain
  • Pain after nerve injury.
  • Symptoms of muscle weakness such as patients with hemiplegia.
  • muscle spasms
  • Prevent muscle atrophy while wearing the cast, after the cast or after surgery.

In this treatment Patients can be treated on the bed or seated position. It depends on the area to be treated. After that, the physical therapist will set up various treatments and choosing an electrical current pattern that is appropriate for your symptoms. A stimulant electrode is then placed on the area to be treated. and start treatment The duration of treatment is approximately 15-20 minutes per area.

Neck and Back Traction Therapy

It is an automatic neck and back traction device by relying on the weight of the rope tension

  • Helps to stretch tissues and joints.
  • Increase the flexibility of the muscles.
  • Increase the space between the joints.
  • Reduce the pressure of herniated disc.

Back and neck traction therapy is the use of force through a traction machine to stretch the muscles or surrounding structures. Area of the cervical spine or spine

  • Reduce pain because it reduces pressure on various structures.
  • Relax and reduce muscle spasms.
  • Reduce pressure on herniated discs.
  • Reduce nerve root compression that cause numbness
  • Separate the joints of the cervical or back bone.
  • Most of the symptoms treated with a back traction device.
  • Herniated disc
  • The nerve root is pressed.
  • Osteoarthritis of the back
  • spinal stenosis

Reduces the tightness of the muscles connecting the spine.

The physical therapist will position the patient to lie down on their back and get in the proper position on the bed before set up the device as weight tension, pulling time which depending on the purpose of treatment. For example, if you want to reduce spasms of muscle need to set the tension of device by 25 percent of body weight. If you want to separate the joints then need to set the tension by 50 percent of the body weight. Estimated treatment time is 15-20 minutes.

Heat therapy treatment

What is hot compression?

It is a form of treatment by using hot pack to transmit heat into the desired area which can deep into the subcutaneous layer about 1/4 inch – 1/2 inch

  • Subacute inflammation caused by injury or accidents such as tendon inflammation, inflamed joint bags, degenerative joints, etc.
  • Pain such as chronic muscle pain.
  • Joint stiffness or adhesion caused by muscles and tendons such as stuck shoulder joints, stiff joints from long splinting
  • Muscle spasms with painful pressure points.

Before applying the hot compression which need to be stored in the boiler at a temperature of about 76.7 degrees Celsius then wrap with towel about 3–5 layers to prevent excessive heat accumulation on the skin and keep visitors warm about 20 minutes.

Cold therapy

Cold can relieve swelling and pain caused by an acute injury because of the cold will help to shrink the blood vessels and less bleeding. If there is pain or injury, the cold compression should be applied immediately within 24-48 hours and 2-3 times a day for 20-30 minutes. Symptoms that should be used cold compression included headache, high fever, toothache, pain, swelling, ankle sprain, nosebleed or swelling in other areas. caused by injury or just having new symptoms, etc.

There are different types of cold compression, as follows:

Dry cold compress: Wrap an ice pack or bottle of cold water in a clean towel then compress to the injured area for about 15-20 minutes or as long as the doctor ordered. The patient may need to consult a doctor or specialist in addition to the frequency or number of times to apply the cold compression appropriately.

Before using wet cold compression, need to wash hands then bring towel put in the cold water than wringing out the water and compress to the injured area directly for 10-15 minutes at a time.  Cleaning water after cold compression around injure area then recompress with cold compression again as doctor recommended.

  • Be careful when applying cold compression to the eye area. This is because the eyes can be damaged by chemicals if the cold compression product leaks.
  • Do not apply ice directly to the skin but should be wrapped in a towel. Also do not compress for more than 15-20 minutes/time as it may cause burns from the cold (Frostbite) or other injuries.
  • Do not sleep while the ice pack is applied.
  • Do not apply cold compression to severe injuries because the body may not be able to stand the cold before pain reduced.
  • Apply a cold compression with extreme caution to areas where the skin’s ability to feel is reduced. As a result of peripheral nerve disorders from diseases such as diabetes or Raynaud’s disease, etc.
